Conference Registration

The Association for Asian Studies looks forward to hosting you
at its 2015 Conference in Chicago, March 26–29, 2015

Preregistration will open in Fall 2014

All registrations include:
  • Access to all panel sessions
  • Film screenings
  • Access to keynote sessions
  • Registration tote bag and conference program book
  • Access to AAS receptions*
  • Drink ticket for use at the member reception
*The Student Reception is only open to current students

 

Student Registrants

The AAS recently established a new Student Member category. If you joined the AAS prior to October 1, 2013 and you are a student, you must submit student verification information with your conference registration form. Student verification may take the form of current enrollment verification, student ID (student ID must clearly indicate current semester enrollment).


 

Registration Category definitions

Please review the following definitions to determine which registration category you should select for AAS Conference.

  • MEMBER: Anyone who has joined the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) and membership is current and has not expired prior to registering for the Conference.
  • NON- MEMBER: Anyone who is not a current member and/or membership has expired prior to registering for the AAS Conference.
  • STUDENT MEMBER: Anyone who has joined the AAS as a student is currently working toward an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree. Proof of qualifying student status is required when registering. Post-doctorates are not considered students.

NOTE: The AAS no longer offers the Student NON-Member conference registration rate. There will only be one rate for Students. Any student wishing to receive the student rate will be required to join the Association as a Student Member.


 

Important Dates and Deadlines

DECEMBER 4, 2014

STUDENT PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION DEADLINE: All students participating on the formal program must register AND SUBMIT STUDENT I.D. or CURRENT ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION.

DECEMBER 11, 2014

PARTICIPANT (non-student) REGISTRATION DEADLINE: All participants must register by this date in order for your name to be printed in the Conference Program. This deadline is only for accepted panel participants.

DECEMBER 11, 2014

Cancellation and refund deadline for ALL PARTICIPANTS presenting on the formal program. Refund requests from participants received after December 11 are not eligible for a refund.

MARCH 2015 (Date TBC)

Cancellation and refund deadline for general conference attendees. Attendees may cancel registration and receive a refund (less $20 administration fee). If you are a participant on the formal program, see the December 11, 2014 deadline above.

MARCH 5, 2015

Pre-conference registration closes.

MARCH 26, 2015

On-site registration opens in Chicago. Please Note: online registration will not be available during the conference.


 

Cancellations and Refunds

There are three cancellation and refund categories and deadline dates. Please read the information below carefully.

STUDENT PARTICIPANTS ON THE FORMAL PROGRAM: The pre-registration deadline for student participants is December 4, 2014. The refund deadline is December 11, 2014. Refund requests from student participants received after December 11, 2014 are not eligible for a refund. All refunds will incur a $20 USD administrative fee.
ALL OTHER PARTICIPANTS ON THE FORMAL PROGRAM (NON-STUDENTS): The deadline for refunds and/or cancellations is December 11, 2014. Refund requests from participants received after December 11, 2014 are not eligible for a refund. All refunds will incur a $20 USD administrative fee.
CONFERENCE ATTENDEES NOT ON THE FORMAL PROGRAM: The deadline for refunds and cancellations is in March 5, 2015. After this date there will be no refunds issued for cancellations of any type, including no shows. All refunds will incur a $20 USD administrative fee.
