Attention Student Registrants

The AAS no longer offers a Student Non-Member Conference rate.

Students wishing to attend the Annual Conference at the discounted student registration rate must (1) already be a current AAS Student Member OR (2) must submit an AAS Student Membership application on the same day as submitting the conference registration form. To apply for membership, visit the membership section of the AAS website.

Please make sure to check the box on the conference registration form that you have and/or intend to submit an student membership application.
Conference registration forms received from non-members indicating the selection of the $60 Student conference rate WILL NOT be processed until a AAS Student Member application has been received and confirmed. Membership forms and accompanying verification documents must be received by posted conference registration deadline in order to be processed.

Acceptable verification documents include:

  • Copy of Student ID (ID MUST visibly indicate current semester enrolled)
  • Copy of tuition bill (must indicate current semester)
  • Notice from Registrar indicating current class schedule.
  • Enrollment certificate.

 

Registration Category definitions

Please review the following definitions to determine which registration category you should select for AAS Conference.

  • REGULAR MEMBER: Anyone who has joined the AAS and membership is current and has not expired prior to registering for the conference.
  • STUDENT MEMBER: Anyone who has joined the AAS as a student is currently working toward an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree. Proof of qualifying student status is required when registering. Post-doctorates are not considered students.
  • NON-MEMBER: Anyone who is not a current member and/or membership has expired prior to registering for the conference.

 

Important Dates and Deadlines

DECEMBER 5, 2014 — 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

STUDENT PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION DEADLINE: All students participating on the formal program must register AND SUBMIT STUDENT I.D. or CURRENT ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION.

DECEMBER 11, 2014 — 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

PARTICIPANT (non-student) REGISTRATION DEADLINE: All participants must register by this date in order for your name to be printed in the Conference Program. This deadline is only for accepted panel participants.

DECEMBER 11, 2014

Cancellation and refund deadline for ALL PARTICIPANTS presenting on the formal program. Refund requests from participants received after December 11 are not eligible for a refund.

MARCH 5, 2015

Cancellation and refund deadline for general conference attendees. Attendees may cancel registration and receive a refund (less $20 administration fee) through March 5, 2015 at 5:00 pm EST. After March 5, 2015, no refunds will be issued. If you are a participant on the formal program, see the December 11 deadline above.

Pre-conference registration closes. After March 5, 2015, you must register on-site in Chicago at the on-site rates.

MARCH 26, 2015

On-site registration opens at the Chicago Sheraton on Thursday morning, March 26. Please Note: online registration will not be available during the conference.


 

Cancellations and Refunds

There are three cancellation and refund categories and deadline dates. Please read the information below carefully.

STUDENT PARTICIPANTS ON THE FORMAL PROGRAM: The pre-registration deadline for student participants is December 5, 2014. The refund deadline is December 11, 2014. Refund requests from student participants received after December 11, 2014 are not eligible for a refund. All refunds will incur a $20 USD administrative fee.
ALL OTHER PARTICIPANTS ON THE FORMAL PROGRAM (NON-STUDENTS): The deadline for refunds and/or cancellations is December 11, 2014. Refund requests from participants received after December 11, 2014 are not eligible for a refund. All refunds will incur a $20 USD administrative fee.
CONFERENCE ATTENDEES NOT ON THE FORMAL PROGRAM: The deadline for refunds and cancellations is March 5, 2015. After March 5, 2015, there will be no refunds issued for cancellations of any type, including no shows. All refunds will incur a $20 USD administrative fee.
