CHILDCARE AT THE CONFERENCE

Childcare

The AAS does not provide childcare services at the annual conference.  However, in support of panel participants in need of professional childcare services while on-site at the annual conference, the AAS board of directors has approved a reimbursement up to $100 per family for childcare expenses incurred onsite

Reimbursements are available only for individuals participating on the formal program and requests must be supported with original receipts.   The AAS will only accept receipts from professional and licensed childcare providers having rendered services for children 12 years and under.  Childcare reimbursement funds are limited and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until available funding is depleted.

Please contact Alicia Williams at awilliams@asian-studies.org for more information regarding reimbursement.

Childcare Providers and Day Camps

The following referrals are provided solely for the convenience of conference attendees.  The AAS does not endorse particular companies, and assumes no liability regarding the services they provide.  We encourage all participants to also do their own due diligence when selecting a childcare provider.

Please return here at a later date for a list of babysitting services available in Washington, DC or the Marriott Wardman Park.

Nursing Mothers

A room will be available in the Marriott Wardman Park for nursing mothers in need of a private space for nursing or pumping. The AAS will supply the following:

  • Seating
  • Tables
  • A refrigerator
  • Electrical Outlet
Please make sure you bring any additional storage/cooler items as needed.

The Nursing Mothers room location will become available at a later date.
