Beware of Hotel Room Poachers/Pirates

Please be advised that the Association for Asian Studies does not work with an outside company to solicit or book hotel rooms for the Annual Conference.  If you are contacted by anyone suggesting that they are holding and selling rooms on behalf of the AAS this is false information.

These companies may state they are offering lowers rate than the official block rate. With that, room reservations may be offered at significantly lower quality. In other circumstances, rooms are not guaranteed, credit cards may be charged extra fees and cancellation polices are often harsh and unforgiving. For these reasons, and to support our efforts to give you a quality event, we encourage you to book your housing accommodations using the reservation tools provided to attendees. Any offers from other hotels and/or housing agencies are not endorsed by AAS.

Currently the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is currently the only hotel the AAS has contracted rooms. To reserve your housing accommodations, please use the links posted on this website or call the hotel directly. Beware of any request to book at these hotels or any other hotels where the AAS has not provided a direct booking link, and report any unauthorized solicitations to AASconference@asian-studies.org
