Submit and/or Pay for an Employment Advertisement

Thank you for your interest in placing a classified employment ad with the Association for Asian Studies.

The Association for Asian Studies accepts advertisements from U.S. academic institutions and firms complying with Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employment guidelines. Advertisements from countries other than the U.S. may not necessarily conform to AA/EOE guidelines.


COST/REQUIREMENTS/PAYMENT

  • Please submit your advertisement via e-mail to Gudrun Patton at gpatton@asian-studies.org. You may include the text of the ad in the body of the e-mail message or as an attached Microsoft Word document. Your ad should be in final copy form when submitted to the AAS. However, the AAS does reserve the right to edit any copy submission. We list ads by type of position grouped within area of study.
  • The cost is $1.00 per word (a minimum charge of $150 applies) for inclusion in EITHER one issue of the Asian Studies Newsletter OR two months on the AAS website. If an ad is posted in BOTH media (Newsletter and Website), the cost is an additional $50.00.
  • For print ads in the Asian Studies Newsletter that are longer than 250 words, we recommend a Display Ad (university policy restricts us from placing display advertisements online). Please see our Display Advertising instructions and pricing, or contact Gudrun Patton at gpatton@asian-studies.org.
  • Pre-payment is required. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS. If this is not possible, please provide a complete billing address and a contact name for invoicing purposes. Payment is required in full within 30 days of receipt of invoice. If paying by wire transfer, please include an additional $35.00 with your payment to cover the handling fees our bank charges for this service.

Ads are posted on the website on the FIRST and THIRD MONDAY of each month.

** NOTE: Due to the AAS Annual Conference, the jobs for March 19 will be posted on March 20 ***

NOTE: To be included, ads must be submitted to Gudrun Patton at gpatton@asian-studies.org no later than the Wednesday prior to Monday's posting. Ads submitted after the Wednesday deadline will be charged an additional $25 late fee.

  • Issue #1: Copy Deadline: JANUARY 1. To reach members in mid-February.
  • Issue #2: Copy Deadline: APRIL 1. To reach members in mid-May.
  • Issue #3: Copy Deadline: SEPTEMBER 1. To reach members in mid-October.
  • Issue #4: Copy Deadline: NOVEMBER 1. To reach members in mid-December.
